The ‘celebrations’ piece of the publishing process was a surprise to me. Perhaps that’s because writing is a solitary activity, and for me a silent one. It has been a delight to meet fellow authors at events where writing is celebrated, like Word On The Street, and at Inanna Book Launches. And it has been gratifying to find that friends who have read Autumn’s Grace want to host celebrations. It is at these events, among friends, where I have been learning to talk about something I seldom talked about before, and that is the writing process.
